In terms of scientific research and teaching, the department has undertaken dozens of scientific research experiments for the whole hospital in past decade. It has obtained more than 10 patents and published nearly 100 papers, including nearly 10 SCI papers. Every year, it undertakes teaching tasks of more than 10 interns from various traditional Chinese medicine hospitals and comprehensive hospitals.It also undertakes teaching tasks for relevant majors of Tianjin University of Traditional Chinese Medicine.Many people serve as of the Tianjin Medical Association Laboratory Medicine Committee, the Chinese Medical Association Laboratory Medicine Committee, and the Tianjin Health Medical Association Precision Laboratory Medicine Committee, and are core of the CASS network.
