There are currently two Biosafety Level 2 laboratories, namely the nucleic acid testing laboratory and the microbiology laboratory. To ensure biosafety in the laboratories, the department has designed them to achieve separation of two zones and four flows, and equipped them with independent exhaust systems. The department has also configured corresponding biosafety protection facilities and established a sound biosafety system with a reasonable organizational structure and complete documentation. The department has organized fire safety training on multiple occasions and adopted measures such as prevention, control, and rescue to deal with emergencies.
The Clinical Laboratory Department has significantly improved its service level through a series of innovations and improvements. A dedicated major emergency group has been established to shorten testing times, and a full-tracking, and tiered reporting system for microbiology has been set up. The department has also established a self-service reporting system, achieving one-stop service for patients at the testing center and effectively reducing the probability of cross-infection within the hospital. Clinical communication meetings covering the entire department have been held to promptly exchange the needs and feedback between frontline doctors and the laboratory, greatly improving the application efficiency of new technologies and indicators and truly realizing in-depth laboratory service for clinical practice. The department cares for its staff, fully enhances their self-learning abilities, and respects their suggestions. These measures have been widely recognized by patients, the hospital, and department staff. The department has been rated as an advanced collective at the hospital level for several consecutive years, and more than 30 individuals have received the title of Advanced Worker at the hospital level. Many staff members have participated in grassroots support, medical aid, and diplomatic assistance missions.
