Pharmacy department is a comprehensive pharmaceutical technical service department that integrates medicine management, rational medicine use, preparation production and development, teaching, and research. The department has developed 124 formulations covering 16 different dosage forms, established China’s first TCM decoction piece traceability management system in hospital, launched multidisciplinary physician-pharmacist joint clinics and pharmaceutical clinics, and increased public awareness of rational drug use.

Pharmacy department has undertaken 33 projects at various levels. Besides, the department has published more than 140 academic papers, obtained four patents and written six monographs. Currently, there are 146 staff members, including nine key talents of TCM inheritance recognized by the National Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine, four talents of TCM identification and processing of Tianjin, one talent of the third-level of Tianjin “131” innovative talent training project, 13 clinical pharmacists certificated by the National Hospital Pharmacist Association, and three supervisors for master’s students.
