Psychosomatic department was founded in 1992, with professor Yan Hong as the academic leader. There are 42 beds in the department. With depression, anxiety disorder, sleep disorder and sub-health state as the dominant diseases, the department has adopted a unique comprehensive treatment method of traditional Chinese medicine and advanced modern treatment methods to regulate the function of the viscera with multiple levels and multiple targets. Furthermore, the department has become a TCM treatment center for psychosomatic diseases integrating medical treatment, teaching, scientific research and prevention.
There are 21 doctors in the department, including four with doctor’s degrees, 14 with master’s degrees, eight national second-level psychological counselors and three intermediate psychotherapists. The department has one famous TCM doctor of Tianjin, one innovative talent of Tianjin’s 131 project, one inheritance mentor of national senior TCM experts’ academic experience, one successor of national senior TCM experts’ academic experience, two inheritance mentors of Tianjin TCM experts’ academic experience, four heirs of Tianjin TCM experts’ academic experience, one heir of TCM master, and one new scholar at the hospital level. In recent years, the department has undertaken more than 10 projects at the provincial and ministerial level and won two third prizes of Tianjin science and technology progress.
