Geriatrics department was established in 1993, focusing on comprehensive prevention and treatment of geriatric syndrome, critical geriatric diseases, and difficult diseases, with Bi syndrome, dizziness, fatigue, and vessel Bi-syndrome as the dominant diseases. The number of annual outpatients is 110,000, and more than 1,100 patients are discharged each year. The department has 21 physicians, including six chief physicians and four deputy chief physicians. The department has received three provincial and ministerial level scientific and technological achievement awards. Besides, the department has published 32 SCI papers and 92 papers in core journals. In the past five years, the department has trained 36 graduate students. In addition, the department has participated in the compilation of General Medicine (deputy editor, editorial board) that is the “12th Five-Year Plan” textbook of the National Health and Family Planning Commission of Chinese medicine and integrated Chinese and western medicine residents standardized training. Furthermore, the department has participated in the compilation of Geriatrics of Traditional Chinese Medicine (editorial board) that is the “13th Five-Year Plan” and “14th Five-Year Plan” textbook.
