Department of infectious diseases was established in April 2017. The department primarily focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of infectious diseases across various systems, with fever as the main clinical manifestation, as well as the identification, early warning, prevention, treatment and reporting of infectious diseases. It is a comprehensive discipline in traditional Chinese medicine and integrated Chinese and western medicine with regional influence, involving medical treatment, education, and research. The department consists of 11 doctors, including one doctoral supervisor and six master’s supervisors. The department has set up infection disease clinic, fever clinic, intestinal clinic, and COVID-19 rehabilitation clinic. The number of outpatients is more than 20,000 per year. In recent years, our department has participated in the construction of national medical team for epidemic prevention and treatment of Tianjin and national key research and development program. Besides, the department has undertaken several research projects, including key special projects from the Tianjin Health Commission and integrative Chinese and western medicine projects. Additionally, the department has trained over 40 doctoral and master students.
