Department of anorectal surgery was established in 2013. The department has adhered to the characteristic therapy that combines traditional Chinese with western medicine for over six decades. This approach is based on the concept of painless minimally invasive surgery, which has been enhanced by the introduction of advanced diagnostic and treatment equipment, as well as surgical techniques. Through continuous development and innovation, the department has formed a comprehensive diagnosis and treatment system. The medical staff of the department have performed various types of surgeries for anorectal diseases. The department comprises outpatient clinics and inpatient wards with 15 ward beds. Each year, the department receives tens of thousands of outpatients with nearly 1,000 operations. Besides, the department has developed various Chinese herbal preparations for anorectal diseases, which can be administered orally, used for external sitz bath, or applied externally. Currently, the department consists of eight surgeons who have undertaken teaching and training tasks for undergraduates, graduates, residents, and continuing education students.
