I am 37 years old and I have been struggling with hearing problems for almost 20 years. For some reason, still not securely detected, my hearing was getting worse over the years. I was officially diagnosed (in Greece, Germany and Italy) with sensorineural hearing loss and was told that this form of hearing loss was irreversible. I had no choice other than a cochlear implementation or powerful hearing aids. I was also aware of the fact that eventually I could totally lose my hearing.

　　I started looking for other possible treatments, outside the range of the Western Medicine, and I found out about Traditional Chinese Medicine. I decided to do the treatment in China and came to the First Teaching Hospital of the Tianjin University of Traditional Chinese Medicine. I stayed there for almost 6 weeks (in February-March 2014), during which I was introduced to a new philosophy and way of treating health problems. The Traditional Chinese holistic approach to health problems gave me new insight for myself and way of living. All members of the staff of the hospital (Professors, doctors, nurses, members of the foreign affairs office and other personnel) welcomed me and made me feel as a member of their family. I received constant and excellent medical care and although my hearing problem is chronic, I had an improvement in both ears. For that, I am sincerely thankful to the Hospital.

　　I am confident now that Traditional Chinese Medicine will further improve my hearing level and I am really looking forward to returning to the Hospital for the continuation of the treatment.

　　我今年37岁，患耳疾已有20多年的时间了。由于某些原因，我的病没有被确切的发现，听力逐年下降。我被确诊为(希腊、德国和意大利)感觉神经听力丧失，并且被告知这种听力丧失是不可逆转的。除了耳蜗装置或者有效的助听器外，我没有别的选择。我逐渐的意识到我将最终耳聋这个事实。

　　我开始寻找除了西医以外的其它可能的治疗，我找到了中医。我决定到中国治疗，于是来到了天津中医药大学第一附属医院。我在医院治疗了大约6周(2013年2月到3月)，在此我了解了一种新的治疗疾病的理念。中医的整体治疗观念为我带来了对生活的新的领悟。医院的所有人员，包括教授、医生、护士、外事办公事人员和其他人员都热烈的欢迎我，使我感觉到自己好像是他们的家人一般。在这里我接受了持续的治疗和极好的护理。尽管我的听力问题是慢性病，但是我的双侧听力都有进步。为此，我衷心感谢医院。

　　现在我充满信心，相信中医将来能够促进我的听力水平，我衷心期待着再次回到医院继续治疗。
